2025 Memory Verses

Year Verse: Philippians 3:1: Rejoice in the Lord…it is a safeguard for you (or for your faith).

Memory verses will come from Proverbs this year so we can grow in wisdom.

January: Proverbs 9:10: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

February: Proverbs 3:3: Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Bonus Verse: Proverbs 19:22a: What is desirable in a man is his kindness…

March: Proverbs 3:7: Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil. Bonus Verse: Proverbs 12:15: The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel.

April: Proverbs 4:23: Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flows the springs of life. [NLT: Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.]

May: Proverbs 13:20: He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. [NLT: Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.]

June: Proverbs 16:2 LB: We can always ‘prove’ we are right, but is the Lord convinced? [Bonus: 21:2 – We can justify our every deed, but God looks at our motives.]

July: Proverbs 16:32: He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city. [NIV: Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.]

August: Proverbs 18:13: He who gives an answer before he hears, it is folly and shame to him. [NLT: He who answers before listening – that is his folly and shame.]

September: Proverbs 19:3 – The foolishness of man ruins his way, and his heart rages against the LORD. [NLT: People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the LORD.]

October: Proverbs 19:17 – One who is gracious [generous, kind] to a poor man lends to the LORD, and He will repay him for his good deed.

November: Proverbs 27:6 – Faithful are the wounds of a friend, but deceitful are the kisses of an enemy. (NLT: Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy.]

December: Proverbs 30:5 – Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. (NLT: Every word of God proves true. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.)
